Directly across from the Main Museum lies our Fossil Park, featuring our very own fossil pits, endearingly known as the "Pits of the Pungo." These expansive pits, filled with fossil-rich material generously provided by the nearby Nutrien Phosphate plant, give visitors the chance to seek out and unearth their very own Miocene age fossils! Within these fossil-laden pits, one could stumble upon the remnants of ancient sharks, whales, bony fish, and coral, to name just a few.

Hours of Operation


- Operating Hours: 10 AM - 4 PM, Tuesday to Saturday 

(Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays) 

- Admission Fee: Free (donations are welcome) 


Please be aware that the Fossil Park and Fossil Pits are part of the Aurora Fossil Museum property and follow the same schedule as the museum.
